This study aims to attempt to demonstrate liquidity risk and its impact on the profitability of Libyan commercial banks, based on the annual data of the Central Bank of Libya for the period (2008-2022 AD). There is a statistically significant relationship at a significant level of 5% for liquidity risk represented by the cash coverage ratio (on the profitability of commercial banks represented by the rate of return on assets, the rate of return on equity). While there is no statistically significant relationship at a significant level of 5% for liquidity risk represented by (employment ratio) on the profitability of commercial banks represented by the rate of return on assets, the rate of return on equity. The study also found a decrease in liquidity risks and profitability in general, and the study recommended increasing the efficiency of liquidity risk management in Libyan commercial banks and working to harmonize and balance liquidity and profitability. It also recommended urging commercial banks to develop tools to measure, monitor and monitor liquidity risks periodically and continuously, and work to develop effective contingency plans to manage liquidity risks.
