Abstract
This study examines the construction of the Palestinian narrative during the "Al-Aqsa Flood" battle from the perspective of Palestinian journalists working in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. It seeks to identify the components, foundations, mechanisms, and influencing factors of this narrative within an media context characterized by unequal cognitive and professional power relations. The study employs the media survey methodology using the communicator survey approach, utilizing a questionnaire administered to a stratified balanced sample of no less than (300) journalists, with (150) from the Gaza Strip and (150) from the West Bank, while ensuring proportional representation across institutional types and work nature. The study is grounded in a theoretical framework integrating Gatekeeping Theory and Framing Theory. It posits that narrative construction unfolds through a sequential and cumulative selection process, wherein professional, institutional, political, and technological factors intertwine, shaped by mediating variables including editorial policy, source selection, utilized references, evidentiary tools, and digital media platforms, culminating in the perceived effectiveness of the narrative in confronting Israeli media discourse and addressing international audiences. The analytical simulation indicates a high level of professional awareness regarding the national narrative, with the overall estimated mean across its dimensions reaching (4.41 out of 5) and a relative weight of (88.2%). This reflects an advanced professional consciousness that perceives the narrative as an integrated communicative process rather than a political discourse detached from journalistic practice. Furthermore, the humanitarian and historical dimensions predominated among the narrative's foundations, with "civilian suffering and the humanitarian dimension" ranking first at (94.6%), followed by "the context of prolonged occupation" at (94.0%), and "the right to land and self-determination" at (93.4%). This affirms the narrative's composite and cumulative nature, which synthesizes the interpretation of the crisis's causes with the presentation of its humanitarian consequences while connecting them to rights and identity. The study concludes with practical recommendations including: strengthening unified national editorial policies to ensure narrative coherence; investing in documentation and digital archiving through the establishment of a nationally authenticated digital archive encompassing journalistic materials, photographs, videos, and documented testimonies; developing an editorial guide for essential terminology; creating a national digital information bank; and establishing joint digital verification units in collaboration with human rights organizations and research centers. These measures aim to consolidate the Palestinian narrative as a robust knowledge-based discourse grounded in context, documentation, and cognitive justice....................
