The present study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the P.O.S.S.E strategy in improving verbal mathematical problem-solving skills and developing productive habits of mind among third-grade students in Palestine. To achieve the study objectives, the researcher employed the quasi-experimental method. The third grade at Amal Elementary Boys' School in Khan Yunis Governorate was purposively selected for the academic year 2022/2023. The study sample consisted of two classes comprising (76) students, one of which was randomly assigned as the experimental group taught using the P.O.S.S.E strategy, with a total of (38) students, while the other served as the control group taught through the conventional method, also comprising (38) students, during the second semester of the academic year (2022/2023). Two instruments were administered to the study sample: a verbal mathematical problem-solving test and a productive habit of mind test. Following the statistical treatment of scores, the study revealed statistically significant differences at the (0.05) significance level between the mean verbal mathematical problem-solving skills of the experimental group and those of the control group in the post-test, in favor of the experimental group. Statistically significant differences were also found between the pre-test and post-test scores of the experimental group, in favor of the post-test, with no statistically significant differences between the post-test and the follow-up test. Furthermore, the study found statistically significant differences at the (0.05) significance level between the mean productive habits of mind of the experimental group and those of the control group in the post-test, in favor of the experimental group, along with statistically significant differences between the pre-test and post-test scores of the experimental group, in favor of the post-test, and no statistically significant differences between the post-test and the follow-up test. In light of the findings, the study recommended the application of the P.O.S.S.E strategy in teaching mathematics at the elementary stage....................
