This research paper examines the issue of “specifying intention” (Setting the intention) and its impact on composite acts of worship within the Maliki school of Islamic jurisprudence. It aims to clarify the juristic concept of intention, define its rulings and foundational principles according to Maliki scholars, and trace its application in composite acts of worship such as prayer, fasting, pilgrimage, purification, and zakat. The study also explores internal juristic debates within the Maliki School regarding the precision of intention specification. Moreover, it provides a critical review of previous studies and adopts an analytical methodology through textual and inferential comparison, leading to practical conclusions and recommendations intended to clarify issues of ijtihad and application in contemporary contexts.
