The study aims to evaluate the local constructional companies' practices for managing the change orders of construction projects and determining the causes and effects change orders of the contraction projects. Three performed contraction projects were chosen and studied, foxing on a problem can be determined as the changes in construction projects is extremely common from different sources and due to different reasons, in any stage of project' stages. These changes may have negative effects on some aspects such as: cost and, delay. If these changes were not officially being solved through the change management process, they could become biggest sources of the conflict in the contract; however theses may cause big risks which contribute the project failure. The study summarized a set of conclusions as following: the most common four reasons of the change orders in the construction projects were determined as: errors and omissions in design stage, occurrence of developed of construction materials and equipment, unforeseen project satiation, inadequate quantities estimation, and an inadequate project scheduling estimation. Consequently, the change orders have big impact on cost and project scheduling where negatively effect on contract parties. However it's mostly cause conflict the project contract parties and project failure.
