Due to the overcrowding and population density witnessed in the city of Gharian in the last decades, thus the increase disputing the demand for various means of transport, which increased the rate of accidents on public roads, and the behavioral patterns of drivers of private vehicles contributed to the increase in the rate of accidents recorded in the city, causing many social and economic problems that cost the state a lot of money to deal with the damage. In this study, the sample was selected and distributed randomly to the different residential areas in the city center, where the total sample of the study was 150 respondents. The software was used for the description and statistical analysis of the questionnaire data using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) and Microsoft Excel in this study. Awareness should be increased among drivers, especially young people, who are the most vulnerable to accidents due to their changing behaviors, in the coming years if the competent authorities are unable to take effective measures to reduce traffic accidents and control drivers' behavior sought to anticipate a rise in the number of deaths resulting from traffic accidents.
