Presently, The active dye in wastewater streams has become a major problem on human and environment. The removal of dyes from wastewater is a matter of great interest in the field of water pollution. Agricultural wastes are renewable and available abundantly at no or low cost. Many types of agricultural by-product have been used for the removal of methylene blue from its aqueous solution. The possible utilization of Dakla palm stone (DPS) as an adsorbent for the removal of methylene blue dye from aqueous solutions has been investigated. In this study DPS were used as (raw and treated) material. The chemical modification was done using (0.1 M) HCL and (0.1 M) NaOH. The Effect of various experimental parameters, such as, initial dye concentration, adsorbent dosage, time, particle size, and pH, were investigated. It was observed that the amount of methylene blue dye adsorption is increased with increase in initial dye concentration from 10 to 80 (ppm). The percentage removal of dye 94.4% for raw adsorbent ,whereas, for base modified (BM) and acid modified (AM) are 93.5 and 94 % respectively. The pseudo- first- order model and pseudo- second- order model, were used to describe the kinetic and mechanism of adsorption process, and found the pseudo- second- order model is more applicable.
