EVALUATION OF ADSORPTION ISOTHERM AND KINETICS OF DATE STONES ACTIVATED CARBON

الملخص
كان الهدف من هذه الدراسة هو تقدير الأيزوترم (تعادل الحرارة) والكينتية (الحركية) لعملية إمتزاز صبغة البلورة البنفسجية (Crystal Violet) على حبيبات الكربون المنشط (Activated Carbon) الناتج من نوي التمور (Date Stone) باستخدام معادلتي خط نقاط الأيزوترم وهما لانقومير (Langmuir Isotherm) وفريندليخ (Freundlich Isotherm) للأول ونموذجي الكينتية من الرتبة الأولى (Pseudo first order kinetic models) والرتبة الثانية (Pseudo second order kinetic models). و وفقاً للبيانات الحسابية كانت معادلة خط نقاط أيزوترم نموذج لانقومير أكثر توافقاً مع النتائج المتحصل عليها معملياً مع قيمة ارتداد خطي قدرها (R2) = 0.931. وأن قيمة السعة القصوى (Maximum adsorption value, Qmax.) متغايرة العناصر تساوي 38.5 ملجم.جم-1. من ناحية أخرى, أظهرت النتائج أن عملية الامتزاز أكثر توافقاً مع نموذج الكينتية من الرتبة الأولى (Pseudo first order kinetic models) بقيمة ثابت معدل إمتزاز (Constant adsorption rate, Kad) قدرها (2.4 x 10-2) دقيقة-1 وقيمة ارتداد خطي قدرها (R2) = 0.965. استنتاجا من ذلك اتضح أن للكربون المنشط ACDSله القدرة للاستخدام كمادة إمتزاز جيدة في عمليات التخلص والإزالة لصبغة البلورة البنفسجية (CV) من المحاليل المائية.
Abstract
The aims of this study are to evaluate the isotherms and kinetics of the adsorption process of Crystal violet dye (CV) on the activated carbon (AC) obtained from date stones (DS) by applying Langamiur and Freundlich isotherm models for the first and first order and second order kinetic models for the second. According to mathematical results, the Langamir isotherm model exhibited a better fit by experimental data with linear regression value (R2) of 0.931. The maximum homogenous capacity (qm) obtained from Langumair isotherm model was 38.5 mg.g-1 for CV. The batch kinetic adsorption study proved that adsorption followed the pseudo-first order model with a constant rate value of (Kad) 2.4 x 10-2 min.-1 and a linear regression value (R2) of 0.965. Therefore, ACDS has the potential to be used as an adsorbent for the removal of CV from aqueous solutions.
